Overview:
Our client, a governmental entity, is seeking a dedicated Project Coordinator to support their Safety, Security, and Training Division.

The Safety & Security Project Coordinator will allocate their time equally between collaborating with District Safety and Security personnel and assisting the Director of Safety and Security in preparing executive reports and conducting analyses.

Key Responsibilities:
- Process and evaluate safety-related data gathered from the Business Sciences Unit and various departments within the organization.
- Analyze safety data to identify trends and patterns, and propose opportunities for developing mitigation strategies and initiatives based on identified safety concerns.
- Establish and maintain a comprehensive repository of safety information within the Safety Management System (SMS).
- Create data models to assess the performance and quality of the safety program, ensuring compliance with business standards.
- Potentially chair safety committees, including the PTASP committee.
- Recommend actionable solutions to address business challenges.
- Lead or participate in safety-focused working groups.

Administrative Support:
Assist the Director of Safety and Security with all executive administrative tasks, including the preparation of staff reports, presentations, written plans, policies, and procedures. Act as the administrative project manager for all safety and security-related initiatives and projects, and prepare and distribute meeting minutes.

Qualifications:
- Engage in or develop requirements for databases, data collection systems, data analytics, and other strategies that enhance statistical efficiency and quality.
- Interpret data and analyze results using statistical techniques to generate ongoing reports.
- Present data models and trend analyses to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Analyze operational data to provide recommendations based on key safety and performance indicators (accidents, incidents, near misses, leading and lagging indicators).

All job duties must be performed safely to protect oneself, colleagues, and the public from harm. Promote safety awareness and adhere to safety protocols to minimize or eliminate accidents. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Management, Statistics, or a closely related field.
- Minimum of two years of full-time experience in a data analysis role utilizing tools such as MS Excel, R, Python, etc.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is required.
- Effective oral and written communication skills are essential.
- Candidates must be able to pass a drug and alcohol screening.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with Tableau, Origami Risk, Industry Safe/Vector Solutions, Python, and data visualization tools or other project management and data analytics software.

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 25 lbs. when necessary.
- Capability to sit for extended periods and walk/stand for moderate durations.
- Frequent bending at the knees and waist is required.
- Repetitive use of a telephone and computer mouse and keyboard is necessary.
