Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Safety and Security Project Coordinator to support our client, a government organization. This role is pivotal within the Safety, Security, and Training Department, where the coordinator will allocate their time equally between collaborating with District Safety and Security personnel and assisting the Director of Safety and Security in preparing executive reports and conducting analyses.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process and evaluate safety-related data sourced from the Business Sciences Unit and various departments.
  • Identify trends and patterns in safety-related information to formulate mitigation strategies and initiatives addressing safety concerns.
  • Establish and maintain a comprehensive repository of safety information within the Safety Management System.
  • Develop data models to assess the performance and quality of the safety program, ensuring compliance with business standards.
  • May serve as chair for safety committees, including the PTASP committee.
  • Propose solutions to business challenges related to safety.
  • Engage in safety-related working groups, leading or participating as necessary.
  • Assist the Director of Safety and Security with executive administrative tasks, including staff reports, presentations, and policy documentation.
  • Act as the administrative project manager for all safety and security initiatives.
  • Document and distribute meeting minutes effectively.
Qualifications:
  • Experience in developing requirements for databases, data collection systems, and data analytics to enhance statistical efficiency and quality.
  • Ability to interpret data and analyze results using statistical methods for ongoing reporting.
  • Skilled in presenting data models and trend analyses to stakeholders.
  • Competence in analyzing data to make operational recommendations based on key safety and performance metrics.
  • Commitment to performing all duties safely to protect oneself and others, promoting safety awareness.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Management, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of two years of full-time experience in a data analysis role utilizing tools such as MS Excel, R, or Python.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is required.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to pass a drug and alcohol screening.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with Tableau, Origami Risk, Industry Safe/Vector Solutions, Python, and data visualization tools.
  • Preferred: Experience in project management.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 25 lbs. as needed.
  • Capability to sit for extended periods and walk or stand for moderate durations.
  • Frequent bending at the knees and waist may be required.
  • Repetitive use of a telephone and computer mouse and keyboard is necessary.
