Position Overview

CMES, Inc., a prominent civil construction firm, is on the lookout for a dedicated Human Resources Manager to facilitate our expanding operations. This office-based role is pivotal in steering the HR function to align with our strategic objectives.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain a strong presence across project sites, acting as the HR liaison to provide guidance on internal processes, policies, and compliance.
  • Manage the recruitment process, including interviewing, hiring, and training new personnel.
  • Collaborate with HR staff to ensure clear communication and adherence to established workflows for timely transaction completion.
  • Oversee daily departmental operations and workflow.
  • Work closely with leadership to implement the organization's talent strategy, focusing on recruitment, retention, and succession planning.
  • Provide support to HR generalists and management on complex and sensitive issues, including reasonable accommodations and investigations.
  • Foster collaborative relationships to uphold our Core Values: Respect, Trust, Dedication, and Appreciation.
  • Stay informed on industry trends and best practices related to Human Resources in the construction sector.
  • Supervise onboarding and training processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant employment laws and corporate policies.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly reports.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in Human Resources.
  • A degree in Human Resource Administration or a related field.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Strong understanding of HR practices and employment laws.
  • Exceptional communication, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Experience in supervising a team.
  • Familiarity with craft and field employees in the heavy civil construction industry.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification.
  • Experience with HR software such as Heavy Jobs, Key Style, or Vista.

Communication Skills:
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Capability to present information clearly in various settings.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to address practical problems and navigate various variables in non-standard situations.


Physical Demands:

Work Environment:
