Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the backup HR Manager.
  • Oversee local staffing and recruitment processes.
  • Manage local headcount reporting.
  • Handle unemployment claims processing.
  • Coordinate all recruitment-related tasks, including posting open positions, screening candidates, conducting interviews, and updating job descriptions.
  • Facilitate new-hire orientation sessions.
  • Process background checks and fulfill pre-employment requirements.
  • Complete employment verification requests.
  • Maintain employee personnel records.
  • Participate as a member of the Safety Committee.
  • Assist with employee relations matters.
  • Compile data and generate reports related to turnover, absenteeism, headcount, and vacation.
  • Ensure compliance with legal standards such as EEO, AAP, and FLSA.
  • Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Accurately reconcile time sheets in Kronos and prepare submissions for weekly payroll processing.
  • Track and maintain attendance records; prepare attendance notification documents.
  • Complete Personnel Change Notice forms.
  • Manage hourly employee vacation schedules.
  • Ensure accuracy in processing employee benefits paperwork.
Qualifications
  • 2-4+ years of experience in Human Resources within a manufacturing setting is preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Preferred certifications include HRCI or SHRM.
  • Familiarity with Kronos, ADP, or similar HRIS and Applicant Tracking Systems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • A collaborative team player capable of fostering productive relationships with employees, management, and peers.
  • High level of professionalism in managing confidential information.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends when necessary.
  • Strong multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in a manufacturing context is preferred.
  • Robust analytical, organizational, and auditing skills are essential.
  • Proven ability to make critical decisions and work independently.
