Position Title:
Lead Lending Regulatory Attorney

Position Overview:
Block is on the lookout for a seasoned lending regulatory attorney to spearhead the U.S. and international lending regulatory division. This position provides a unique chance to influence company-wide compliance initiatives and engage with various departments. The ideal candidate will possess a robust legal foundation in lending, a background in financial services, and the capability to convert regulatory mandates into practical advice. Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee a global team of lending regulatory attorneys and managers
  • Provide counsel on regulatory issues affecting Block's worldwide operations
  • Stay informed on local regulatory frameworks to propose innovative product solutions
  • Evaluate and interpret new regulations and their potential impacts
  • Manage lending licensing submissions for international markets
  • Act as Block's representative with regulatory bodies and external stakeholders
  • Deliver legal counsel to the Legal team and other partners

Required Qualifications:

  • At least 10 years of lending experience, either in-house or within a law firm
  • Proficiency in interpreting lending regulations for business units
  • Demonstrated experience in lending regulatory issues and dealings with regulators
  • Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability in a dynamic environment
  • Exceptional communication and leadership abilities
  • J.D. degree and membership in a U.S. state bar
