Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Behavioral Health Program Coordinator to join our team. The successful candidate will work closely with our clinicians, behavioral health staff, patients, and families to identify necessary services for the overall wellness of our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide a direct point-of-contact resource for patients and families on topics not requiring clinical expertise, including questions or concerns related to duties described herein, communicating care processes with providers, care team, and patients, and informational inquiries related to behavioral health services provided by Long Island Select Healthcare Inc.
  • Provide administrative and nonclinical support for the Behavioral Health Department, including obtaining health records from internal and external sources, documenting all patient-related activities within our electronic medical record (eClinicalworks), reporting, generating, and mailing patient letters and documents, and creating, managing, and/or tracking spreadsheets for operational reports to management.
  • Obtain and track prior authorizations, as necessary, and provide backup and support to Behavioral Health Schedulers, as needed.
  • Coordinate services and care, including scheduling and rescheduling appointments, assisting with obtaining transportation arrangements as-needed, maximizing provider schedules to reduce patient waitlists, and confirming patient appointments and placing follow-up phone calls.
  • Support our organization by logging general behavioral health activities/minutes spent in enrolled patient records for meeting monthly care coordination requirements.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. A strong understanding of behavioral health services and healthcare operations is essential.
