Job Summary:

Catholic Health is seeking a skilled Laboratory Coordinator to join our team. As a Laboratory Coordinator, you will play a critical role in maintaining and coordinating accessioning, handling, and grossing preparation of surgical specimens and laboratory inquiries regarding specimen collection and processing for the hospital.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and coordinate all laboratory inquiries and procedures regarding referred testing specimen collection processing for the hospital.
  • Act as a resource for hospital personnel regarding specimen procurement, testing, and results.
  • Maintain and coordinate all laboratory specimen pick-up and deliveries between CHS Hospitals and CHS Regional Laboratory Service facilities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Computer experience desirable.
  • Good oral and written communications skills.
  • Six months experience in all phases of Phlebotomy in a hospital environment desired.
  • Weekends and holidays as scheduled.
  • Certification from the American Society of Phlebotomy technicians desired.
  • Experience in protocols involved in accessioning, handling, and preparation, including thin prep processing of cytology specimens desired.
  • Clean, valid NYS Driver's license required.

Salary Range:

USD - USD /Hr.
