Minimum Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, candidates must meet one of the following criteria:
1. Reachable on the Current Civil Service Eligible List.
2. Have one year of permanent service as a Social Services Coordinator 2 or in a title eligible for transfer under Civil Service Law.
3. Have one year of permanent service as a Social Services Coordinator 1 or equivalent.
4. Hold a master's degree in social work or a bachelor's degree in a human service area with two years of relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities:
Under the guidance of the Housing Lead, the Social Services Coordinator 2 will:
  • Oversee and monitor all certified residential opportunities, including relocations.
  • Ensure accurate data entry into the relevant databases and track referral and placement activities.
  • Actively participate in the Regional Certified Residential Opportunities Team and related committees.
  • Manage residential referral and screening processes in line with established prioritization criteria.
  • Assist in coordinating requests for individual relocations.
  • Maintain oversight of residential due process notifications.
  • Compile and generate reports as required by central office and regional teams.
  • Contribute to unit initiatives and special projects, participating in interdepartmental and regional workgroups as assigned.

  • Strong communication, public speaking, writing, and organizational skills.
  • The ability to build and maintain relationships with individuals, families, advocates, and agency staff.
  • Proficiency in computer systems and database management.
  • The capability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • A solid attendance record.
  • Willingness to participate in evening and weekend activities as needed.

Additional Information:
This position is part of a program designed to facilitate emergency placements statewide. Candidates hired under this program may transition to permanent competitive status after a specified period without the need for an examination.

Preference will be given to employees affected by agency closures. It is essential for applicants to be aware of any potential conflicts of interest regarding family relationships within the agency.

All candidates must be cleared by the appropriate child abuse and maltreatment registers if the position involves working with minors.
