Position Overview:

We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Lead Scientist in the field of Oncology Pharmacokinetics to join our team at Novartis Farmacéutica. This role is essential in advancing our mission to develop innovative therapies that improve patient outcomes.

Role Summary:
The Lead Scientist will be a key member of the PK Sciences team, responsible for shaping and executing strategies related to drug metabolism and pharmacokinetics. This position will focus on the development of new medicines from initial discovery phases through to late-stage clinical trials.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Act as the PK Sciences representative in project teams, engaging with internal stakeholders and regulatory bodies as necessary.
2. Formulate and oversee the pharmacokinetic strategy for lead optimization, ensuring the execution of nonclinical studies to identify compounds with optimal DMPK characteristics.
3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance understanding of pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics, developing effective dosing strategies.
4. Design and implement clinical pharmacology strategies, contributing to study designs and analyzing relevant data to support drug development initiatives.

Documentation and Reporting:
Prepare comprehensive documentation including study protocols, reports, and project summaries. Author sections related to pharmacokinetics and clinical pharmacology for regulatory submissions and address inquiries from health authorities globally.

Qualifications:
- Ph.D. or Pharm.D. with substantial experience in clinical pharmacology, drug metabolism, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in drug discovery or development within a relevant setting (e.g., academia, CRO, biotech, or pharmaceutical industry).
- At least 4 years of experience is required for the Senior Principal Scientist level, including 2 years in a leadership role overseeing ADME/DMPK strategies.
- Profound knowledge of pharmacokinetics, drug metabolism, and PK/PD evaluation, with experience in global project teams.

Skills:
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a collaborative, matrixed environment.
- Hands-on experience with drug conjugates or radiopharmaceuticals is advantageous.

This role is pivotal in bridging the gap between drug discovery and clinical application, contributing to the development of transformative therapies for patients.
