Position Overview:

We are in search of a highly driven and seasoned Principal Scientist to become a key member of our Platform team.

This laboratory-based role will concentrate on enhancing our understanding of ADAR biology and biochemistry through a range of biochemical, cellular, and molecular assays.

The selected candidate will take charge of investigational initiatives, encompassing the design and execution of assays, data analysis, interpretation, and presentation to the broader team.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate expertise in various biochemical, structural, and/or cell-based assays.

We seek a motivated team player with a proven track record of mentoring and guiding junior scientists, possessing excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple high-priority tasks.

Key Responsibilities:


Independently design, execute, and troubleshoot an array of biochemical and cell-based assays to advance the company's understanding of oligo-directed RNA editing, including but not limited to enzyme kinetics, protein purification, protein binding assays (SPR, fluorescence polarization), structural biology, molecular modeling, SHAPEmap and RNA folding, LC-MS, cell-based assays, RNA isolation, Western blotting, qPCR, dPCR, and NGS.

Analyze intricate data sets and effectively communicate findings while leading the decision-making process for future scientific endeavors.


Proactively develop and implement innovative technical solutions to propel the company forward, staying informed on relevant scientific literature and the competitive landscape.


Lead cross-functional teams, applying knowledge and expertise to define project scope and objectives while providing mentorship to junior team members.

Identify, establish, and lead external collaborations and projects with academic institutions and contract research organizations (CROs).


Required Qualifications:

  • PhD with 5+ years of industry experience; MS with equivalent years of industry experience in biochemistry, cell biology, or a related field.
  • Proven ability to independently drive high-level projects forward.
  • Capacity to learn and implement new techniques and adapt swiftly.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, time management, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to analyze, report, and communicate data rigorously.
  • Demonstrated experience in mentoring and managing research assistants and scientists.
  • Capability to multitask and effectively collaborate with a diverse team of scientists to deliver quality data and results.
Preferred Knowledge, Experience, or Skills:

Experience with oligonucleotide-based therapeutics.

Familiarity with ADAR biology/biochemistry.

Experience with CryoEM and/or X-ray crystallography.
