Position Overview: The Vice President of Operations for a Real Estate Investment Firm will be responsible for the comprehensive management of daily functions across a diverse portfolio of Class A and B residential properties, including both market-rate and subsidized rentals, spanning multiple regions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise all operational aspects of the properties, ensuring that property staff receive thorough training and support.
  • Analyze financial performance by reviewing operating budgets, monthly financial statements, weekly progress reports, and other critical performance metrics.
  • Ensure compliance with lease agreements during resident activities such as move-ins, move-outs, and renewals.
  • Foster positive resident relations by addressing service requests and inquiries in a professional manner.
  • Maintain high living standards for all residents by ensuring properties are in excellent condition.
  • Advocate for effective property management practices while providing ongoing support to property teams.
  • Perform Property Manager duties as necessary based on operational needs.
  • Collaborate with senior management to formulate company policies and long-term strategic objectives.
  • Oversee marketing and leasing initiatives to maximize occupancy and revenue.
  • Manage negotiations for service contracts and implement strategies for purchasing and expense management.
  • Recruit, hire, and train new employees, addressing any personnel issues with the support of Human Resources.
  • Supervise capital improvement projects, implementing significant enhancements to the property portfolio.
  • Work closely with Finance, HR, and IT departments to introduce new processes and technological solutions.

Qualifications:

  • 7-10 years of executive-level experience in residential property management.
  • Proven expertise in financial oversight, project management, leasing, and maintenance operations.
  • A Bachelor's degree is required; a Master's degree in Business, Finance, Management, or a related field is preferred.
  • Willingness to travel 30-50% of the time as necessary.
  • Strong technological proficiency and experience in implementing effective processes and software solutions.
