Key Responsibilities
The Vice President of Regional Operations will spearhead a profitable and comprehensive business strategy within the designated region, implementing the vision, objectives, and directives to meet targets. This role involves close collaboration with national, regional, and practice leadership to enhance organizational dynamics, financial outcomes, operational efficiency, physician and hospital partnerships, and quality and safety management. A crucial aspect of this position is to foster positive and collaborative relationships with hospitals, system executives, physicians, and all company personnel. The Vice President will oversee Operations Managers and Practice Administrators or Assistants, empowering these teams to execute optimal operational functions. Key responsibilities include regional assessment and development across all domains, collaboration with sales, marketing, and growth teams, and engagement with regional medical officers. The Vice President will also act as the regional liaison for Managed Care, Revenue Cycle Management, and will strive to optimize Shared Services support for the practices. This role is pivotal in driving practice growth and performance.
- Maintain constructive and collaborative relationships with hospital leadership.
- Lead negotiations of agreements with physicians and hospitals concerning new and ongoing business operations.
- Formulate strategies and plans for profitable business in the region, aligning with organizational goals.
- Conduct thorough assessments of the assigned region and devise growth plans while driving strategic initiatives for all practices, including diversification, expansion, or establishment, and approving candidates for acquisition.
- Evaluate, scope, and mitigate risks to the business.
- Ensure safe daily operations and adherence to contracts.
- Oversee the financial performance of the assigned region, including budget development, monitoring practice performance and efficiency, reviewing monthly financials, and implementing productivity and cost containment strategies.
- Develop and endorse business development models.
- Collaborate with Clinical services and Specialty Medical Officers to promote safety and quality initiatives.
- Monitor practice performance and efficiency through the operations team and monthly financial reviews while overseeing productivity and cost containment strategies.
- Ensure managed care and revenue cycle oversight to guarantee responsible teams achieve best practices and objectives.
- Facilitate optimal delivery of Shared Services support (legal, human resources, revenue cycle, finance, physician services, etc.), while promoting the adoption of the company's mission, vision, and values.
Education:
Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Master's Degree preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- A minimum of 7 years' experience in financial management and analysis, including pro forma development, contracting, business development, and physician relations.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; adept at negotiating and building relationships with physicians, physician groups, other healthcare professionals, and hospital partners; Proven experience in successfully leading and motivating a team.
- Critical thinker with the capacity to logically evaluate all aspects of situations and problems to arrive at optimal solutions.
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to achieve collaborative and positive outcomes.
- High degree of personal accountability, emotional intelligence, energy, and an entrepreneurial mindset; experience leading operations in a multi-state healthcare organization.
- Willingness to travel up to 50%, typically within the assigned region.
