Key Responsibilities:

The Vice President (VP) will spearhead a profitable and all-encompassing business and expansion strategy within the designated region, implementing the vision, objectives, and direction to meet established goals. The VP collaborates closely with national, regional, and practice leadership to enhance organizational dynamics, financial outcomes, operational efficiency, physician and hospital contracting, as well as quality and safety oversight. This role entails fostering positive and collegial relationships with hospitals, system executives, physicians, and all company personnel. The VP is accountable for supervising Operations Managers and Practice Administrators or Assistants to empower those teams in executing optimal practice operations.

  • Maintain constructive and collaborative relationships with hospital leadership.
  • Lead negotiations of agreements with physicians and hospitals concerning new and ongoing business operations.
  • Formulate strategies and plans for profitable business within the region, aligning with organizational objectives.
  • Thoroughly assess the assigned region and devise growth plans while driving strategic initiatives for all practices, including diversification, expansion, or establishment, and approve candidates for acquisition.
  • Evaluate, scope, and mitigate risks to the business.
  • Ensure safe daily operations and adherence to contracts.
  • Oversee the top and bottom-line performance of the assigned region through budget development, monitoring practice performance and efficiency, reviewing monthly financials, and tracking practice productivity and cost containment strategies.
  • Develop and approve business development models.
  • Collaborate with Clinical services and Specialty Medical Officers to promote safety and quality initiatives.
  • Monitor practice performance and efficiency through the operations team and review of monthly financials while tracking practice productivity and cost containment strategies.
  • Oversee managed care and revenue cycle to ensure responsible teams achieve best practices and objectives.
  • Ensure optimal delivery of Shared Services support (legal, human resources, revenue cycle, finance, physician services, etc.), and promote the adoption of the company's mission, vision, and values.
Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from an accredited institution; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Master's Degree preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in financial management and analysis, including pro forma development, contracting, business development, and physician relations.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; ability to negotiate and build relationships with physicians, physician groups, other healthcare professionals, and hospital partners; experience in effectively leading and motivating a team.
  • Critical thinker with the capacity to logically evaluate all aspects of situations and challenges to arrive at optimal solutions.
  • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to achieve collaborative and positive outcomes.
  • High degree of personal accountability, emotional intelligence, energy, and an entrepreneurial mindset; experience leading operations in a multi-state healthcare organization.
  • Up to 50% travel required, typically within the assigned region; Maryland, Virginia, Ohio.
  • Preferred Residency: Maryland, Virginia, Ohio.
