Position Title: In-Office Phlebotomy Billing Coordinator

Role Summary:
The In-Office Phlebotomy Billing Coordinator plays a vital role in our organization. This position encompasses precise data entry into our Electronic Health Record and Practice Management software, overseeing workflows, and serving as the main liaison among various departments and stakeholders. Additionally, this role supports office personnel and ensures that all responsibilities are fulfilled according to job specifications.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in the healthcare sector or equivalent skills.
  • At least three years of experience in medical billing and/or customer service.
  • Strong problem-solving, research, and conflict resolution abilities.
  • Knowledge of medical billing processes and insurance protocols.
  • Capacity to handle multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent communication skills in both English and Spanish.
  • Solid mathematical skills applicable to healthcare settings.
  • Able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Proficient in computer applications, including Google Workspace and Patient Management Systems.
  • Fluency in multiple languages, with a preference for Spanish.
  • Preferably possesses a Medical Billing diploma or certification.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with patients to address inquiries and guide them to the correct departments.
  • Manage client inquiries, assess the nature of calls, and resolve issues effectively.
  • Systematically organize and distribute patient records.
  • Accurately enter patient demographics and other essential information into the system.
  • Collect and input patient registration details into the database.
  • Assess patients' financial status for billing purposes.
  • Verify insurance coverage and billing details.
  • Assist in correcting any billing discrepancies.
  • Prepare financial documents for daily processing.
  • Schedule patient appointments using the computerized system.
  • Ensure secure storage of documents in electronic health records.
  • Participate in quality initiatives by assisting in audits and data collection.
  • Manage office supplies and medical forms efficiently.
  • Resolve errors and troubleshoot issues effectively.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Communicate promptly and professionally with patients and team members.
  • Utilize critical thinking skills to analyze and prioritize problem resolution.

Work Environment:

Location: Fully Remote

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8-hour shifts
