Job Overview

The Laboratory Billing Coordinator plays a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of billing processes within United Westlabs. This position involves a variety of responsibilities aimed at maintaining seamless communication and documentation related to patient billing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and respond to incoming phone inquiries with professionalism.
  • Thoroughly review and finalize all requisitions to guarantee that all necessary demographic information, including patient details, insurance data, and diagnoses, are accurately recorded and documented.
  • Monitor and follow up on incomplete requisitions received from the billing department, ensuring they are finalized and documented appropriately.
  • Contact patients to obtain any missing forms or information required for billing.
  • Compile and forward all payment documentation, including EOBs, RA's, Medicare payments, checks, and credit card transactions, to the billing office.
  • Verify the hospital's admission records against the billing roster to ensure compliance with relevant regulations.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proficient in basic computer operations.
  • Exemplary telephone communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to evaluate and interpret information effectively.

Physical Demands:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting (up to 8 hours daily).
