Role Summary:
As the Senior Vice President of Strategic Partnerships, you will focus on nurturing existing commercial and content collaborations, while also exploring new alliances and identifying innovative revenue-generating avenues for The Arena Platform Inc. Your contribution is vital to our content acquisition and distribution framework, as well as our revenue enhancement objectives, collaborating closely with the product and publishing operations teams. You will report directly to the Senior Vice President of Business Development and engage with various General Managers across the organization.
Compensation: The expected annual salary range for this role is $190,000 - $230,000 USD. Actual salaries will be determined based on various factors, including education and experience. This salary range is just one aspect of the comprehensive compensation and benefits package provided to employees.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate across business, editorial, sales, product, social, and legal teams to identify, evaluate, and develop new avenues for maximizing revenue.
- Manage relationships with key commerce, content, and distribution partners, renegotiating third-party content and vendor agreements in collaboration with other department leaders.
- Track key performance indicators related to traffic, revenue optimization, and audience engagement.
- Present innovative ideas and strategies to the leadership team focused on creative revenue-generating initiatives, including new partnerships and technology trends.
- Prepare and deliver presentations to both internal and external stakeholders regarding the outcomes of business development efforts.
- Compile monthly reports on traffic and financial performance, ensuring timely fulfillment of ad-hoc reporting requests.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution; an MBA or equivalent is advantageous.
- A minimum of ten years of experience in business development or marketing/sales, with at least five years in digital publishing, e-commerce, or content acquisition.
- A strong passion for the digital media landscape, with the ability to self-motivate, multitask, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a genuine interest in data analysis, with the ability to communicate findings effectively.
- A proven history of cross-departmental collaboration with strong project management capabilities.
- A comprehensive understanding of affiliate data KPIs and the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and Google Suite.
- Strong public speaking skills, capable of presenting to diverse audiences.
- Comfortable in a performance-driven role where securing new revenue is essential to achieving team goals.
- Proactive in outreach to partners, with demonstrated negotiation skills and extensive experience in contract review.
