Position Summary:

As a Cosmetic Sales Specialist, also referred to as a Beauty Advisor, your primary goal is to meet the beauty needs of our clientele while driving sales. You are both a product expert and a beauty enthusiast, dedicated to helping customers feel confident and beautiful. Your focus will be on developing a loyal client base and nurturing strong relationships to achieve sales targets. You embrace innovative selling techniques and are adept at engaging with customers through various communication channels, including virtual consultations and phone interactions. You will conduct customer consultations, which may include applying makeup and demonstrating products.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Greet customers warmly and assist them with their needs
  • Utilize your product knowledge to provide tailored advice based on customer preferences
  • Introduce customers to beauty products and build rapport to uncover additional needs
  • Demonstrate the application of beauty products directly on customers
  • Maintain proper presentation, organization, and replenishment of stock
  • Utilize our clientele program to foster relationships, achieve sales goals, and promote product launches
  • Engage in pre-selling and sales-driving events to maximize sales potential
  • Stay informed about Macy's beauty product offerings and current trends
  • Participate in ongoing training through Macy's educational resources, including vendor and virtual training sessions
  • Manage new merchandise, process damages, and prepare items for vendor returns
  • Employ point-of-sale technology to assist in sales and fulfill customer orders
  • Adhere to hygiene standards and compliance procedures for asset protection

Who You Are:

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in customer service or sales required
  • Previous experience in cosmetic or fragrance sales is advantageous

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods within the store
  • Frequent use of computers, handheld devices, and cash registers
  • Physical activities including reaching, crouching, kneeling, and lifting items up to 25 lbs.
