Position Summary:

As a Cosmetic Sales Specialist, also referred to as a Beauty Advisor, your primary role is to cater to the beauty needs of our clientele to enhance sales. You are both a product educator and a beauty enthusiast, specializing in empowering our customers to feel beautiful and confident. Your focus is on establishing a loyal client base and nurturing strong relationships to achieve sales targets. You will conduct customer consultations, including the application of makeup and beauty products.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Greet customers warmly and assist them effectively
  • Utilize product knowledge to offer expert guidance tailored to each customer's desires and preferences
  • Introduce customers to beauty products and build rapport to uncover their hidden needs
  • Demonstrate the application of beauty products directly on customers
  • Maintain proper presentation, organization, storage, and replenishment of stock
  • Engage with our clientele program to foster relationships, achieve sales goals, share promotions, and inform customers about product launches and rewards
  • Participate in pre-selling and sales-driving events to maximize sales and reach personal targets
  • Stay motivated to keep up with Macy's beauty product knowledge and industry trends
  • Complete all training requirements through Macy's educational resources, including attending vendor and virtual training sessions as needed
  • Manage new merchandise, process damages, and handle returns to vendors
  • Utilize point of sale technology and applications to facilitate sales and fulfill customer orders
  • Adhere to hygiene standards and comply with asset protection and control procedures

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand or walk for extended periods within the store or department
  • Frequent use of computers, handheld devices, and cash registers
  • Capability to reach, crouch, kneel, stoop, and distinguish colors
  • Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 25 lbs.
