Bilingual Patient Scheduling Specialist

The Bilingual Patient Appointment Service Specialist plays a crucial role in managing patient appointments within a dynamic healthcare environment. This position involves handling incoming calls for both Primary Care and Specialty Teams, ensuring a seamless experience for patients.
Key Responsibilities:- Independently create and manage appointment schedules within the electronic medical record system for a diverse, multi-specialty medical practice.
- Gather essential patient demographic and provider information to accurately assess appointment requests and direct them to the appropriate area.
- Advise patients on necessary co-payments, referral authorizations, and pre-service deposits to ensure preparedness for their visits.
- Collect and verify Guarantor and insurance details to assess patient eligibility effectively.
- Engage with a variety of stakeholders, including patients, healthcare professionals, and family members, while maintaining a high standard of service.
- Navigate multiple systems concurrently, ensuring availability for patient inquiries throughout the majority of the workday.
- Manage complex scheduling workflows and respond to telephone, online, and fax requests with accuracy and thoroughness.
Candidates should possess a high school diploma or GED, along with a minimum of two years of customer service experience in a fast-paced environment, such as a call center or healthcare setting. An associate degree is also acceptable.
Preferred Skills:- Completion of a Medical Terminology course or experience in a medical field is advantageous.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential, along with the ability to troubleshoot and manage conflicting demands.
- Independent decision-making and sound judgment capabilities are required, along with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment, demonstrating empathy and maintaining positive communication even in challenging situations.
- Proficiency in keyboarding and computer skills, along with a basic understanding of insurance terminology, is necessary.
