POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking a dedicated leader to oversee the Energy and Professional Services division. This role involves steering the development of innovative services while ensuring the achievement of business objectives. You will identify and pursue opportunities that enhance public services through strategic projects and programs. Engage with potential clients to explore new initiatives and provide guidance on project implementation and management. You will also be responsible for overseeing budgets for various projects, which can range from modest investments to substantial financial commitments.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead the creation of new service offerings and ensure their successful launch.

  • Collaborate with member utilities and external organizations to identify needs and opportunities.
  • Represent Energy Northwest as a key solution provider for market demands.
  • Transform innovative service concepts into actionable plans.
  • Conduct thorough cost/benefit analyses and present findings to management and review boards.
Oversee all stages of project development for new professional services, including collaboration with various departments, preparation of proposals, team formation, and procurement processes.

Engage in strategic planning and risk management alongside the Business Support team. Draft and negotiate a variety of contracts and agreements to support the division's objectives. Assist in creating comprehensive business case studies that inform decisions regarding service expansions or reductions.

Manage team performance in accordance with established policies and practices. Foster a unified vision aligned with the leadership team, while providing training and development opportunities to enhance staff capabilities and morale. Address personnel matters, allocate responsibilities, and ensure adherence to procedural standards.

QUALIFICATIONS

A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing, Information Technology, or a related discipline, along with six years of progressive experience, including a minimum of five years in business development.

Alternatively, an Associate's degree combined with eight years of relevant experience, or a high school diploma/GED with ten years of progressive experience, including five years in business development, is acceptable.
