Job Summary

The Registrar Advisor will engage in a range of complex administrative functions related to the Registrar's Office, ensuring compliance with academic regulations. This role involves advising students and academic advisors on institutional policies and may focus on specific areas such as transfer credits or student athlete eligibility. The advisor will serve as a subject matter expert on academic policies for various stakeholders, including Registrar staff, faculty, and students.

Responsibilities

1. Advisory Role:
Provide guidance to undergraduate and graduate students regarding institutional rules and regulations, specializing in areas such as faculty petitions and transfer credits.

2. Communication:
Assist students in preparing necessary documentation and evaluate requests against regulatory standards, addressing inquiries related to academic policies.

3. Collaboration:
Work closely with the Assistant Registrar to make informed decisions on petitions and coordinate with admissions and financial aid offices.

4. Problem Solving:
Address inquiries from students and academic units regarding the interpretation of academic policies, ensuring compliance with regulations.

5. Tuition Services:
Facilitate services related to tuition classification and residency petitions, collaborating with relevant departments.

6. Liaison Role:
Act as a point of contact between faculty, staff, and enrollment services, maintaining effective communication with academic advisors.

7. Technology Coordination:
Oversee technology projects related to database maintenance and process improvements.

8. Data Management:
Compile and analyze data for audits and institutional reviews.

Qualifications

Educational Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.

Experience:
Four to six years of relevant experience in a similar role.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in a higher education environment with a focus on interpreting academic regulations.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Skills:
Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills; ability to interpret complex regulations; proficiency in student information systems and MS Office Suite.
