Key Responsibilities
  • Designated School Official (DSO): Serve as the primary point of contact for international students, providing guidance on F-1 visa regulations and ensuring compliance with immigration laws.
  • Student Record Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date student records in the Student Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS), ensuring timely and efficient processing of student petitions and applications.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Stay current with regulatory updates and legislative changes affecting international students on F-1 visas, ensuring that our university remains compliant with all relevant laws and regulations.
  • Student Advising: Provide expert guidance to international students on academic issues, including program and course offerings, and assist with resolving personal or academic concerns.
  • Event Coordination: Organize and coordinate student-focused events, including international student orientations and cultural experiences.
  • Scheduling and Course Revisions: Complete and maintain student scheduling and course revisions per university standards, providing guidance to students on scheduling changes.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Multiple years of relevant student support experience
  • Knowledge of SEVIS and F-1 visa regulations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage sensitive and challenging issues with confidentiality
