Position Overview:
Rocky Mountain Cancer Centers, a leading provider of oncology services in Colorado, is seeking a dedicated Patient Services Coordinator to join our team in Lakewood.

Compensation:
$18.29-$23.00 per hour, with pay determined by various factors such as education, experience, and certifications.

Key Responsibilities:

- Schedule follow-up appointments in the practice management system according to provider orders and office protocols in a busy clinic environment.

- Manage appointment cancellations and rescheduling based on patient or physician requests, ensuring timely communication with relevant clinic staff. - Facilitate financial counseling for patients as necessary. - Uphold patient confidentiality to protect both the individual and the clinic. - Adhere to office policies and procedures to enhance front office efficiency. - Provide coverage for other front office roles as needed. - Schedule outpatient appointments and hospital admissions upon request, obtaining necessary authorizations and pre-certifications as required.

- Communicate with patients regarding scheduled tests and necessary preparations, gathering essential information from relevant parties.


  • - Answer incoming calls courteously and connect callers to the appropriate extensions.
  • - Take and relay messages accurately and promptly.
  • - Respond to urgent patient calls in a timely manner.
- Direct calls to clinical staff as necessary.

- Perform operator functions, including triaging and transferring calls; greet patients and visitors in a professional and welcoming manner.

- Collect required forms and demographic and insurance information, ensuring accurate record-keeping. - Gather copies of insurance cards and current identification for patient files. - Update patient information in the system as needed. - Collect co-pays and other out-of-pocket expenses at the time of service, issuing receipts when necessary.

Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent is required. - A minimum of 3 years of office experience is necessary, preferably in a medical setting. - Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential. - Proficiency in computer systems is required, with familiarity in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel) being advantageous.

Employees must be present at the workplace during scheduled business hours and may need to sit or stand while communicating with others.

Manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination are necessary for computer tasks. Occasionally, employees may need to lift files or paper weighing up to 30 pounds. Corrected vision and hearing within normal ranges are required for telephone communication.

Work Environment:

The work environment may involve exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medical preparations, and other conditions typical of an oncology/hematology clinic. Interaction with colleagues and clients will be in-person, and minimal travel to various office sites may be required.

All qualified candidates must successfully pass a background check and a non-federal drug test (excluding marijuana) following a job offer and prior to employment.
