Key Responsibilities:

The Healthcare Service Coordinator plays a crucial role in the front office operations of OnPoint Medical Group's clinics. This position encompasses the following duties:

  • Welcome patients in a friendly and professional manner, both in person and over the phone.
  • Conduct pre-visit preparations, including contacting patients for updated insurance information and verifying insurance details.
  • Register new patients and ensure the accuracy of existing patient information.
  • Collect co-pays and other payments as necessary.
  • Handle inbound calls to schedule appointments and serve as a liaison to clinical staff for patient inquiries.
  • Perform administrative tasks to facilitate smooth patient visits, timely billing processes, and maintain an organized front office.
  • Make outbound calls to patients for appointment scheduling.
  • Adhere to established service standards and maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
  • Demonstrate punctuality and regular attendance.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members while also completing individual tasks.

The ideal candidate will possess the ability to manage individual responsibilities while contributing to the overall success of the clinic. Strong interpersonal skills and the capacity to demonstrate empathy are essential. Active listening and appropriate responses to patient needs are critical for success in this role.


Qualifications:

To excel in this position, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Preferred: Some college education with a focus on medical, business, or accounting.
  • Experience in customer service.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a clinical or business office environment.
  • Bilingual candidates are preferred.
  • Experience with EMR systems, particularly Athenahealth, is advantageous.

Working Conditions:

This role requires regular standing, use of hands for various tasks, and effective communication skills. Occasional walking, sitting, and lifting of up to 25 pounds may be necessary. Vision requirements include close and distance vision, as well as the ability to adjust focus.
