Key Responsibilities:

- Manage scheduling of follow-up appointments in the practice management system according to provider directives and office protocols in a busy clinic setting.

- Adjust appointments as necessary based on patient or physician requests, ensuring timely communication with relevant clinic personnel. - Facilitate financial counseling for patients as required. - Uphold patient confidentiality and adhere to clinic policies to enhance front office efficiency. - Provide coverage for various front office roles as needed. - Coordinate outpatient appointments, testing, and hospital admissions upon request. - Secure necessary authorizations and pre-certifications as mandated.

- Communicate effectively with patients regarding scheduled tests and any preparatory requirements, gathering essential information as needed. - Respond to incoming calls promptly, directing callers to the appropriate extensions.


  • - Accurately relay messages in a timely manner.
  • - Address emergency and urgent patient calls swiftly.
- Connect callers to clinical staff as necessary.

- Perform operator duties, including call triaging, connecting, and transferring calls; greet patients and visitors with professionalism and courtesy.

- Collect and verify necessary forms, demographic and insurance details, and ensure accurate record-keeping. - Collect co-pays and other payments at the time of service, issuing receipts as required.

Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent is required. - A minimum of 3 years of office experience is necessary, preferably in a medical setting. - Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential. - Proficiency in computer systems is required, with familiarity in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) being advantageous.

Employees are expected to be present during scheduled business hours and may need to sit or stand while communicating.

Manual dexterity and coordination are necessary for computer tasks, with occasional lifting of files or materials weighing up to 30 pounds. Corrected vision and hearing within normal ranges are required for telephone interactions.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The work environment may involve exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medical preparations, and other conditions typical of an oncology/hematology clinic.

The role will include in-person interactions with colleagues and clients, and may require limited travel to various office locations.

All qualified candidates must successfully complete a background check and a non-federal drug test (excluding marijuana) following a job offer and prior to employment.
