Position Overview

Materials and Logistics Specialist

As a key member of the Ionix Team at Fortescue Future Industries (FFI), you will report directly to the Administration Manager. The Materials and Logistics Specialist plays a crucial role in coordinating logistics operations to ensure the efficient receipt, storage, and distribution of finished products to support a rapidly expanding Manufacturing Product Portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver expertise in materials procurement and logistics
  • Ensure timely processing of purchasing and logistics requests from Manufacturing and Contracts & Procurement Teams
  • Maintain accurate records, tracking, and reporting of all Purchase Order statuses
  • Expedite orders from suppliers
  • Organize local, interstate, and international freight movements
  • Collaborate with suppliers, receivers, and freight forwarders to guarantee all necessary import and export documentation is accurate and timely
  • Provide procurement/SAP support and training for project coordinators and new team members
  • Assist the Warehouse Coordinator with SAP service/goods receipting, warehouse tasks, and training
  • Support the sourcing, testing, implementation, and ongoing improvement of Inventory Tracking Solutions
  • Drive continuous improvement of systems and processes
  • Work with suppliers, purchasing, vendor information, and accounts payable teams to resolve invoice discrepancies via SAP Workflow, ensuring timely invoice payments
  • Process Service Entry Sheets (SES) for all service purchase orders
  • Complete end-of-month accruals for material purchase orders and assist technical teams with accruals for service orders
  • Understand and adhere to all Fortescue procurement policies and procedures

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Over 5 years of experience in procurement, warehousing, logistics, or inventory control
  • Proactive, capable of working effectively with both internal and external stakeholders independently and collaboratively
  • Strong multitasking and time management skills; adaptable mindset with the ability to prioritize tasks in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Comprehensive understanding of the entire supply chain process from procure to pay
  • Familiarity with Incoterms
  • Knowledge of dangerous goods documentation, shipping, handling, and storage requirements
  • Experience with SAP MM, PM, and Fiori
  • Possession of a High Risk Forklift (LF) License
