Position Overview:

Title: Construction Project Manager

Division: Design & Construction

Position Code: Exempt

Experience Required: A minimum of five years in the construction sector, with a comprehensive understanding of various construction disciplines, including civil, structural, architectural, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing.

Educational Background: High School diploma or equivalent is required. A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management is preferred, or a combination of relevant education and experience will be considered.

Key Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Windows, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word) is essential. Familiarity with project management software such as Prolog, AutoCAD, Suretrack, and Microsoft Project is advantageous.

Certifications: OSHA 30-hour certification is preferred and must be obtained within three months of employment.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the assigned scope of work, managing a comprehensive design and/or construction team.
  • Handle projects of diverse complexity and financial thresholds.
  • Identify and resolve construction-related issues, discrepancies, and conflicts.
  • Revise field work procedure documents as necessary.
  • Provide technical guidance to contracting personnel.
  • Review design documents for accuracy, coordination, and feasibility.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with the project team regarding progress.
  • Evaluate and approve progress payment requests.
  • Engage professionally with stakeholders.
  • Monitor reports and schedules as required by clients/owners.
  • Develop and manage project budgets and reports.
  • Review field updates and reports with clients.
  • Create and manage development schedules.
  • Mentor junior team members to foster their professional growth.

Safety and Compliance:

  • Ensure adherence to safety regulations and project-specific safety protocols.
  • Implement health and safety management strategies.
  • Conduct investigations into accidents/incidents and initiate corrective actions.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Promote a harmonious job site and foster strong team dynamics.
  • Coordinate design and construction meetings effectively.
  • Oversee safety programs and initiatives.
  • Represent the company positively in all interactions.
  • Complete assigned tasks in a timely manner.
  • Maintain professionalism and a collaborative work environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
