Position Details
Division: Design & Construction
Position Code: Exempt
Experience Required: A minimum of five years in the field or a related area, with experience across all construction disciplines (civil, structural, architectural, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing) preferred.
Educational Background: High School diploma or equivalent is required. A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred, though a combination of education and relevant work experience will also be considered.
Skills Required: Proficient in Windows/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook/Word. Basic knowledge of Prolog or other Project Management software is advantageous. Familiarity with AutoCAD, Suretrack, and Microsoft Project is desired.
Certifications: OSHA 30-hour certification is preferred (must be obtained within three months of hire).
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the scope of work, overseeing a full design and/or construction team as directed.
- Handle projects of varying complexity and valuation limits, encompassing full lifecycle development management.
- Review, analyze, and resolve construction-related issues in collaboration with A/E supervision, clients, and contractors.
- Possibly manage multiple projects concurrently.
- Develop and update field work procedure documents as necessary, involving research and interpretation of relevant codes and technical manuals.
- Provide technical direction and supervision to contracting personnel.
- Review A/E design documents for completeness, coordination, scheduling, and constructability.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of all contract documents associated with projects.
- Communicate daily with supervisors and project teams regarding progress and responsibilities.
- Review progress payment applications and secure necessary approvals.
- Approve Time and Material field work with contractors as required.
- Maintain timely and professional correspondence with Owners, Architects, Contractors, and Subcontractors.
- Monitor required reports and schedules prepared by contractors or subcontractors.
- Develop comprehensive project budgets and commitment reports, maintaining accurate records for owner reporting.
- Provide weekly updates and photo reports to clients.
- Assign work to employees to ensure ongoing challenge and productivity.
- Participate in all schedule meetings and monitor the schedule of responsibilities.
- Review PCO/CCD quotes, negotiate changes, and protect claims with supervisor review.
- Create detailed development schedules for client review.
- Mentor Assistant Project Managers or Project Coordinators as directed.
Safety Responsibilities:
- Ensure the health, safety, and welfare of all personnel on the job site, enforcing compliance with the project-specific safety plan and relevant regulations.
- Implement and ensure understanding of all sections of the Health and Safety Management plan.
- Conduct accident/incident investigations to determine causes and implement corrective actions as necessary.
Additional Duties:
- Foster job site harmony and build strong team relationships.
- Submit insurance claims to the Owner's Safety Engineer/Risk Manager after supervisor review.
- Coordinate and attend weekly design and/or construction meetings.
- Monitor OCIP/CCIP activities and safety programs as applicable.
- Possess working knowledge of construction equipment, techniques, drawings, specifications, building materials, and applicable standards.
- Represent the company positively both internally and externally.
- Actively participate as a team member, completing all assigned tasks promptly.
- Treat all employees, clients, subcontractors, and vendors with respect and courtesy.
- Maintain professionalism and a harmonious work environment at all times.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.
