Position Details:

Title: Project Manager

Division: Design & Construction

Position Type: Exempt

Experience Required: Minimum of five years in construction or a related field, with a preference for experience across all construction disciplines (civil, structural, architectural, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing).

Educational Background: High School diploma or equivalent is required. A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred, though a combination of education and experience may be considered.

Required Skills: Proficiency in Windows, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Word. Familiarity with project management software such as Prolog, AutoCAD, Suretrack, and Microsoft Project is advantageous.

Certifications: OSHA 30-hour certification is preferred (must be obtained within three months of hire).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the scope of work, managing a full design and/or construction team as directed.
  • Handle projects of varying complexity and value, ensuring comprehensive lifecycle management.
  • Analyze and resolve construction-related issues in collaboration with A/E supervision, clients, and contractors.
  • Manage multiple projects concurrently as necessary.
  • Develop and update field work procedures, conducting research on relevant codes and technical manuals.
  • Provide technical guidance and supervision to contracting personnel.
  • Review A/E design documents for completeness, coordination, scheduling, and constructability.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of all contract documents related to the project.
  • Communicate daily with supervisors and project teams regarding progress.
  • Review and approve progress payment applications.
  • Coordinate with owners, architects, contractors, and subcontractors professionally and promptly.
  • Monitor client-required reports and schedules prepared by contractors or subcontractors.
  • Develop and maintain accurate project budgets and activity reports.
  • Transmit field updates and photo reports to clients weekly.
  • Assign tasks to team members to promote productivity and challenge.
  • Participate in scheduling meetings and monitor project timelines.
  • Negotiate change orders and claims with supervisor oversight.
  • Create comprehensive development schedules for client review.
  • Mentor Assistant Project Managers or Project Coordinators as directed.

Safety Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the health, safety, and welfare of all personnel on the job site, enforcing compliance with safety plans and regulations.
  • Conduct accident investigations and implement corrective actions as necessary.

Additional Duties:

  • Foster job site harmony and build strong team relationships.
  • Submit insurance claims after supervisor review.
  • Coordinate and attend weekly design and construction meetings.
  • Monitor safety programs and activities.
  • Maintain knowledge of construction equipment, techniques, and standards.
  • Represent the company positively both internally and externally.
  • Complete all assigned tasks in a timely manner.
  • Treat all individuals with respect and professionalism.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
