Position Summary

The Quality Control (QC) team in our Ink Manufacturing division is responsible for testing and inspecting specialized pigment and ink products for the electrophoretic display sector. The primary responsibility of the QC Visual Inspector is to conduct visual inspections of Front Plane Laminate (FPL) materials, serving as a critical quality checkpoint for the final product release.

The QC Visual Inspector will operate in a controlled clean room environment, adhering to established gowning protocols and procedures. This position requires close collaboration with the FPL Manufacturing, Engineering, and Quality teams to ensure success. The role reports directly to the Ink Manufacturing QC Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities
  • Utilize electronic equipment and control boxes necessary for inspection processes.
  • Conduct visual inspections of FPL sheets and components for physical and switching defects against approved visual standards.
  • Assess the type and size of identified defects using a 10x eye-loupe.
  • Document defects and observations in the designated database.
  • Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), control plans, specifications, and safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with engineering and supervisory teams to report new observations or anomalies.
Qualifications
  • An Associate's Degree in Science is preferred.
  • A GED or High School Diploma with 3+ years of laboratory experience in a manufacturing setting may substitute for an Associate's Degree.
  • 1-3 years of experience in QC visual inspection is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to detect subtle defects visually.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with individuals at all organizational levels across various departments.
  • Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Strong teamwork skills are essential.
  • Familiarity with computer software, including MS Office and Windows.
