Job Description

Job Summary:

TMA is seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance Manager to oversee all aspects of the quality department. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that products are manufactured, tested, and delivered using controlled processes to meet customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Quality Improvement: Lead quality improvement efforts for quality assurance, timely production, and waste reduction.
  • Vendor Management: Approve and coordinate with vendors of outside processes to ensure their quality is assured and problems are quickly resolved.
  • Root Cause Analysis: Perform critical root cause analysis to eliminate ongoing problems and identify trends.
  • Process Development: Prepare PPAP, CPK, processes, and paperwork, and work with production staff to achieve results.
  • Internal Audits: Perform product, process, and change control risk mitigation actions utilizing 5S Audits and ISO-based Internal Audits.
  • Leadership Collaboration: Work with the leadership team and other departments to implement corrective actions, preventative measures, and continuous improvement.
  • Financial Management: Propose an annual budget and ensure that agreed-upon budget is followed.
  • Customer Relations: Participate in on-site customer audits and off-site customer visits, vendor audits.
  • Gauge Calibration: Manage gauge calibration program to meet ISO 9001 requirements.
  • ISO Compliance: Perform ISO and AS91000 audits.
  • Office Efficiency: Organize office/5S/gage library for optimal efficiency.
  • Nonconforming Products: Ensure nonconforming products are identified, documented, and processed per company operating procedures.
  • Reporting: Prepare clear and concise reports to present findings to leadership, suppliers, and customers.
  • Project Inspection: Refine and integrate project inspection & test plans.
  • Inspector Support: Support inspectors and identify any training needs or performance issues, share information with manager.
  • Supplier Review: Review supplier procedures and recommend improvement requirements.
  • Inspection Records: Review all inspection records for compliance and take responsibility for the release of customer products after final inspection.
  • Gage Calibration System: Maintain the Gage Calibration system for the company.
  • Communication: Take initiative to provide crucial communication between production, office, engineering, and others.
  • Workflow Direction: Direct workflow to keep inspections moving, resolve issues with first piece inspector and set up.
  • Process Development: Create new processes or modify existing in response to product and process change orders.
  • Root Cause Analysis: Work with the quality team on root cause analysis to correct quality and production concerns.
  • Training and Development: Participate in on-going training as well as recommend training opportunities for team.
  • Safety Procedures: Adhere to safety procedures.

Requirements, Skills, and Experience:

  • Education: College degree in a related field.
  • Business Education: Business education a plus.
  • Expertise: Expert in GD&T.
  • Experience: 5+ years of quality department experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Blueprint Reading: Advanced blueprint reading.
  • Problem Analysis: Experience in analyzing problems, identifying root cause, and designing corrective actions.
  • Lean Manufacturing: Good working knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and ability to analyze, recommend, and implement improvement ideas.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Structured problem-solving skills at a working level including 5-Why analysis.
