Job Description Summary:
As a Quality Assurance Inspector, you will conduct accurate quality checks, documentation, and audits to ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards, while supporting production and FSQA activities across various departments.

The roles are scheduled to commence in September and conclude in December, with an orientation date set for August.

This is a union role with a starting rate of *$18.75/hr.
*Rate differential for night shift premium.

Job Description:

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Conduct accurate and timely metal detector verifications and quality checks (weights, temperatures, sensory, and other measurements), documenting them promptly in the appropriate paper and/or electronic platform.
  • Evaluate raw materials and perform audits to ensure usage in the correct date order.
  • Communicate problems or information to the Lead and QA Management, as well as other departments, in real time, documenting on respective paperwork and/or electronic platforms.
  • Provide accurate information for the day's activities in the department shift report.
  • Support FSQA Inspectors in other areas as needed to complete the shift.
  • Rotate to different areas of Production as assigned.
  • Support additional projects as assigned by FSQA Management.
  • Use Ross and Safety Chain to conduct daily Food Quality and Food Safety functions.
  • Conduct routine safety, facility GMP, and QA system audits as assigned by FSQA Management.
Qualifications:
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, detail-oriented, able to put issues in context, work independently, and possess good organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Decisive problem solver who works well as part of a team.
  • Basic computer skills (Excel/Word).
  • Professional communication at all times.
  • Commitment to keeping the Quality Assurance agenda as the top priority.
  • Practice safe work habits.
  • Good attendance record and adherence to attendance policy.
  • Ability to comprehend the English language.
  • Strong mathematical aptitude.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Adherence to all GMPs, Food Safety, and Rules and Regulations.
  • Flexible to work any shift
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work with limited direction.
  • Capability for occasional team lifting of up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand and/or walk up to 90% of the shift.
