At Catamount Ski Resort LLC, our Terrain Park Maintenance Specialists play a vital role in ensuring the upkeep and safety of our terrain parks. This position is perfect for those who are passionate about winter sports and enjoy working in an outdoor environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily inspections and maintenance to uphold safety standards, including snow shoveling and raking.
  • Repair landings, identify hazards using bamboo markers, flag jumps, and apply paint to landing zones.
  • Evaluate the flow of rail gardens and navigate sequential jumps for quality assurance.
  • Monitor terrain parks for unsafe riding practices and provide educational support to guests.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate records related to terrain park operations.
  • Contribute to the safe upkeep and visual appeal of terrain park boundaries and signage.
  • Adhere to Catamount's comprehensive safety protocols.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • Advanced skiing or snowboarding skills are required.
  • Ability to navigate terrain parks and utilize various features.
  • Familiarity with terrain park etiquette and design.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse individuals, including guests.
  • Effective communication skills for guest interactions.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends, holidays, and evenings.
  • Availability during peak operational periods is essential.
  • Willingness to work in various weather conditions.
  • Physical fitness is necessary, including the ability to lift 50 lbs and perform dynamic movements on skis or a snowboard.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work outdoors in cold and wet conditions throughout the day.
  • Capability to bend, scoop, stretch, and pull heavy snow.
  • Mobility to traverse rugged, snowy, and icy terrain, including climbing and hiking.
  • Ability to lift and/or move over 50 pounds.
  • Visual acuity for close, distance, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
