facility in Western Massachusetts, specializing in the production of a diverse array of custom-designed and standard construction products, ranging from single conductor hook-up wire to intricate multi-conductor composite cables.

We are currently seeking a skilled Process Engineer.

Key Responsibilities:

A hands-on Process Engineer is required for an on-site role within the engineering department of a manufacturing facility renowned for its excellence in the wire and cable sector.

The successful candidate will be tasked with developing, implementing, and refining cost-effective manufacturing processes and methodologies in alignment with product specifications and quality standards for both new and existing projects.

Project responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, creating PFMEA/Control plans, developing manufacturing processes, drafting specifications, reviewing equipment proposals, and evaluating or selecting equipment while preparing various lists, such as equipment and materials lists, along with technical drawings.

Provide technical support across all departments, monitor and document process conditions for samples, and assist in resolving issues to minimize downtime.

Deliver operator training to support setup instructions and testing procedures.

Assist in troubleshooting process-related issues and provide technical guidance, possessing a solid understanding of manufacturing practices and challenges related to material construction, product usage environments, or manufacturing processes.

Maintain documentation of process conditions for samples and initial production runs. Identify and report defective materials, malfunctioning equipment, and unusual conditions to management. Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations.

Support existing products by collaborating with manufacturing and quality assurance teams to address product-related challenges. Develop and implement manufacturing and engineering processes for both new and existing products.

Conduct product/process analysis aimed at cost reduction, quality enhancement, and efficiency improvement.

Analyze scrap trends and formulate project plans with timelines and measurable objectives that align with EIS's business goals, utilizing engineering techniques and analysis.

Understand the interplay between process parameters, material characteristics, and conductor performance. Lead initiatives to continuously enhance efficiencies, reduce product costs, improve product quality, and minimize scrap in accordance with strategic business objectives.

Maintain a visible presence on the factory floor and provide hands-on troubleshooting of manufacturing processes and equipment to facilitate root cause analysis and corrective actions using engineering methodologies.

Develop and/or refine manufacturing processes to enhance product performance, decrease process-related scrap, and boost manufacturing efficiency. Establish optimized Process Standards and procedures, including One-Point Lessons, Visual Instructions, and Standard Operating Procedures.

Required Qualifications:
B.S.

Degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline. Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting capabilities. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical issues.

Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Familiarity with some of the following software is advantageous:

MS-Project, Mathcad, Cable Builder, Solid Works, Minitab. A process-oriented individual with substantial experience in documentation, process standardization, and the creation of Work Instructions and SOPs.

Comprehend the relationships between process parameters, material characteristics, and product performance. Develop projects and trial plans to identify the root causes of processing issues and scrap.

Collaborate with Product Engineers and Quality/Environmental Engineers. Ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating technical proficiency, problem-solving skills, and project management capabilities.

Maintain high levels of customer service and foster lasting relationships with clients across diverse industries. Strong communication, interpersonal, planning, organizational, and decision-making skills are essential. Perform other related duties as required or assigned by management.



Preferred Qualifications:
B.S. in Engineering with a minimum of 3 years of manufacturing experience. Exceptional attention to detail, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and strong creativity and troubleshooting skills. Ability to engage professionally with both internal and external clients. Experience in the wire and cable industry, a continuous improvement mindset, and certifications such as 6 Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt are preferred. Training in Lean Manufacturing and familiarity with Design of Experiments (DOE) and Statistical Process Control is a plus.
