Position Title: Quality Assurance Inspector
Department: Manufacturing
Reports To: Quality Assurance Supervisor


Position Summary

  • Accountable for verifying that all manufactured components meet client specifications utilizing instruments such as calipers, gauges, and coordinate measuring machines. Interpret, enhance, and adhere to organizational quality assurance standards. Additionally, responsible for assessing, refining, and developing quality assurance protocols and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct initial inspections, in-process evaluations, and final assessments of materials and intricate precision machined components.
  • Examine technical schematics to ensure alignment with client or company standards.
  • Compile and generate all necessary documentation for inspections and certifications for both clients and internal records.
  • Review existing quality assurance protocols, propose, and implement new or revised quality assurance policies and procedures.
  • Perform audits and verify documentation for adherence to standards.
  • Calibrate instruments and maintain calibration records.
  • Accurately document and file all quality control records.
  • Investigate reports of product quality concerns and ensure resolution in accordance with company guidelines and regulatory standards.
  • Identify training requirements and take action to ensure compliance across the organization.
  • Support colleagues within the Quality Assurance team to enhance efficiency and ensure optimal resource utilization.
  • Notify supervisors of any delays or potential issues promptly. If necessary and instructed, may interact with clients to clarify any non-conformance reports or quality concerns.
  • Stay informed about ongoing regulations, standards, and best practices within the industry.
  • Ensure safe operations by following safety protocols and regulations.
  • Reports to the Quality Supervisor and is responsible for quality functions within the manufacturing process to guarantee that quality standards are upheld.
  • Perform other reasonable tasks as directed by supervisors.
  • Achieve organizational objectives by taking ownership of new and diverse requests; explore opportunities to enhance job performance.
  • Adhere to company policies as outlined in the employee handbook.
  • Possess working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 standards.

Qualifications

  • Required Experience: Proficient in independently documenting and executing quality control on components using a Faro Arm (coordinate measuring machine); familiarity with inspection documentation.
  • Preferred Experience: 5+ years or equivalent combination of education and experience in a precision environment; experience with Microsoft Office; ISO 9000 familiarity.

Language Skills

  • Required: Must be conversational in English. Preferred: Fluent in English, Spanish, and/or Vietnamese.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to bend, lift, climb, sit, stand, and walk.
  • Occasionally required to use hands for handling or feeling.
  • Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms.
  • Occasionally required to communicate verbally.
  • Occasionally required to lift light weights (less than 75 pounds).
  • Specific vision abilities required for this role include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

  • Typically operates in a climate-controlled environment, depending on weather conditions.
