Position Overview:

Title: Civil / Structural Department Manager

Location: Deer Park, Texas

Role Summary: This position entails overseeing a dedicated team of civil engineers and designers, ensuring the successful execution of their projects. The manager is responsible for reviewing financial reports, timesheets, engineering documentation, and project timelines to guarantee that all tasks are completed within the established deadlines. Responsibilities include:
  • Collaborating with clients to ensure designs align with their specifications and requirements.
  • Coordinating and supervising activities to meet project deadlines.
  • Monitoring project budgets to maintain financial efficiency.
  • Assessing design plans for potential flaws and recommending enhancements.
In this role, you will engage in civil/structural calculations for a diverse range of industrial and commercial projects. You will take charge of all aspects of complex civil/structural engineering assignments, requiring extensive experience and the application of advanced engineering techniques and analyses.

Essential Qualifications:
  • In-depth knowledge of industry standards (ASCE, AISC, ACI, PIP, etc.).
  • Proficiency in civil/structural analysis software, including the ability to operate and interpret results.
  • Familiarity with discipline-specific methods and practices for engineering, designing, and constructing process and manufacturing projects.
  • Ability to lead teams of varying sizes to fulfill commitments.
  • Skill in delivering persuasive presentations regarding company services.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience in virtual team collaboration and cross-divisional relationship management.
Educational Background: A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution is required.

Licensure: Texas Professional Engineering registration is necessary, with a willingness to obtain registration in other states as required.

Experience Requirements: A minimum of 8-10 years of relevant experience in civil/structural engineering is essential.
