Job Title: Department Manager – Senior Process Engineer

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Process Engineer to lead a dynamic group of engineers as a Department Manager. The successful candidate will oversee project execution, ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and efficiency standards. You will play a key role in the development and review of engineering designs, manage client relationships, and provide leadership on large, multi-discipline projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to Company Quality Standards: Comply with established engineering checking and approval procedures to ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Comply with HSSE Standards: Actively engage in hazard identification programs and report any unsafe acts, conditions, or incidents to your supervisor.
  • Collaborate with the Drafting/Design Team: Develop and review engineering drawings to ensure accuracy and adherence to safety standards.
  • Conduct Site Visits: Assess project requirements, conditions, and evaluate site-specific challenges to ensure successful project execution.
  • Visit Vendor Facilities: Inspect equipment and ensure compliance with project specifications to ensure timely delivery.
  • Prepare and Review Documents: Prepare and review inquiry, purchase requisitions, and bid tabulations for equipment procurement to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Perform Detailed Checks: Conduct detailed checks on engineering drawings and mathematical calculations to ensure accuracy and adherence to safety standards.
  • Ensure Design Practices: Adhere to safety standards while identifying opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
  • Plan and Manage Workload: Plan and manage workload, project budgets, and resources, escalating issues when necessary to ensure successful project execution.
  • Develop and Review Design Packages: Develop, review, and approve conceptual and detailed engineering design packages to ensure accuracy and adherence to safety standards.
  • Assist in the Development of Internal Guidelines: Assist in the development and improvement of internal design guidelines, specifications, and control procedures to ensure consistency and quality.
  • Utilize Advanced Engineering Principles: Apply advanced engineering principles and mathematics for complex calculations and problem-solving to ensure accurate and reliable results.
  • Prepare and Oversee Reports: Prepare, modify, and oversee reports, specifications, project plans, and construction schedules to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Analyze Engineering Strategies: Analyze engineering strategies to ensure the appropriate methodologies are applied to ensure successful project execution.
  • Manage Client Relationships: Manage client relationships and explore opportunities for repeat business and growth to ensure long-term success.
  • Compile Man-Hour and Cost Estimates: Compile man-hour and cost estimates based on client-provided project scopes to ensure accurate and reliable results.
  • Forecast and Manage Man-Hour Requirements: Forecast and manage man-hour requirements and project schedules to ensure timely delivery and successful project execution.
  • Lead Risk Management Initiatives: Lead risk management initiatives, addressing potential challenges like construction costs, environmental hazards, and regulatory issues to ensure successful project execution.
  • Undertake Feasibility Studies: Undertake feasibility studies, technical evaluations, and site investigations to support project success.
  • Lead Multi-Discipline Projects: Lead multi-discipline projects, manage day-to-day workflows, delegate assignments, and ensure deadlines are met to ensure successful project execution.
  • Provide Feedback and Evaluations: Provide feedback and evaluations for team members, addressing performance and any work-related issues to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert: Act as a subject matter expert, advising on work techniques, best practices, and engineering solutions to ensure accurate and reliable results.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering: Bachelor's degree in engineering (Chemical Engineering preferred).
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License: Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
  • Field Experience: Field experience is required.
  • Extensive Experience in Leading Engineering Projects: Extensive experience in leading engineering projects, particularly in process engineering.
  • Strong Communication and Leadership Skills: Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to manage both internal teams and client relationships.
