Position Overview:

B&W Energy Services is in search of a skilled Engineering Manager to direct our innovative Engineering Team, ensuring the effective execution of engineering and design initiatives for our clients both domestically and internationally.

Primary Duties:

  • Guarantee the punctual delivery of comprehensive engineering packages, in accordance with client submission timelines. This involves participating in internal project initiation meetings, designating the suitable project engineer, providing mentorship during the design phase, conducting final assessments of each package, and managing the client approval workflow.
  • Facilitate the formal transition of finalized engineering packages to the operations team through a structured kickoff meeting. Collaborate with operations as necessary during equipment loading and field implementation.
  • Ensure the team's adherence to ISO9001 quality standards, actively engaging in both internal and external audits.
  • Oversee each project within established budgetary limits, initiating the change order process when required, supported by documented technical justifications.
  • Communicate key performance indicators of the engineering group to B&W's Executive Management Team.
  • Participate in bi-weekly project meetings to address any challenges related to the engineering team.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical challenges that emerge during field operations, conveying solutions to B&W's technical advisors and project managers.
  • Promote ongoing enhancements of existing equipment and spearhead the development of new equipment designs.
  • Conduct pre-bid evaluations of plans, specifications, and other contractual documents for all prospective project assignments, advising the Sales Team on any unique cost, schedule, or quality considerations for inclusion in project proposals.
  • Engage in pre-bid discussions and maintain communication with the Sales Team as necessary to ensure the precision of contract bids, subject to availability.
  • Assist the Sales Team in crafting cost estimates, schedules, proposals, and other bidding documents to secure additional projects, subject to availability.
  • Perform comparative analyses of inquiry and proposed contract drawings, specifications, and other contractual documents prior to contract acceptance.
  • Maintain project documentation in line with B&W Energy Services' protocols.
  • Lead weekly engineering progress meetings to ensure compliance with project submission timelines.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering with at least 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Proven leadership skills with a successful history of guiding a team to achieve specific objectives.
  • Exceptional conflict resolution capabilities.
  • Strong delegation skills with appropriate follow-up to ensure timely completion.
  • A solid mathematical aptitude and the ability to quickly analyze, compare, and interpret data.
  • Extensive knowledge and expertise in chemical cleaning, transonic velocity steam and air blowing, high-velocity oil flushing, hydro-testing, pulse or slug type flushing, and related cleaning techniques.
  • In-depth understanding of compressible and incompressible fluid dynamics.
  • A comprehensive grasp of the thermodynamic properties of steam and heat and mass balances.
  • Thorough knowledge of various energy sectors, including power generation, refining, crude upgrading, ethylene, polypropylene, ethylene glycol, methanol, sulfur, and gas processing.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • The ability to collaborate effectively with others and navigate business processes.
  • A high standard of integrity.
