Position Title: Administrative Security Assistant (PERSEC) Hybrid

Reports To: Program Manager

Clearance Type: Top Secret clearance

Work Location: Washington, DC (Hybrid expected, 3 days onsite/week)

Job Overview:

Advantage SCI is currently seeking applications to assist a federal agency's personnel security initiative.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a liaison between Human Resources and Security Divisions, clarifying the onboarding process and its components to candidates while offering support to HR staffing specialists regarding vetting inquiries.
  • Address internal and external customer queries to facilitate the status updates of investigations or related actions.
  • Initiate necessary documentation for background checks for applicants/employees at the appropriate level, aligned with their job responsibilities.
  • Monitor the progress of security applications and provide timely updates.
  • Conduct thorough quality reviews and present findings to Federal employees regarding completed security applications to reduce unacceptable submissions to the investigative service provider.
  • Assist in the scanning and submission of fingerprint cards, ensuring that fingerprint results are classifiable.
  • Support security division personnel in routing copies of credit reports, court records, Selective Service checks, and other investigative elements as required.
  • Track all stages of activities within the case management system.
  • Facilitate the enrollment and disenrollment of personnel into FBI RAPBACK and Continuous Evaluation/Vetting systems as appropriate.
  • Manage incoming mail processing.
  • Respond to email inquiries promptly.
  • Assist in the out-processing of employees to maintain an accurate inventory of personnel assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Top Secret clearance is mandatory.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field. A bachelor's degree may be substituted with 2 years of relevant Federal experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in Federal HR and/or Federal Personnel Security.
  • Proven administrative skills, particularly in file organization and maintenance.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data entry systems.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with high-level visitors is essential.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with the FBI's RAPBACK data system.
  • Experience in Human Resources.

Working Conditions:

  • Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods.
  • Capability to stoop, kneel, bend, and reach.
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, and run as required.
  • Capacity to lift up to 50 pounds.
