Position Overview:

The Senior Customer Relationship Manager is accountable for overseeing the business operations of assigned principals within designated customer accounts. The primary focus is to enhance sales and expand market share for the brands represented, while ensuring profitability for both our manufacturers and Acosta.

Key Responsibilities:

Essential functions of this role include:

  1. Achieving principal objectives by meeting volume and sales fundamentals, including merchandising, assortment, pricing, and shelving goals at assigned customers, all while minimizing costs.
  2. Creating a comprehensive Customer Business Plan that aligns with the priorities of the principals.
  3. Engaging directly with decision-makers at customer locations to present business plans, programs, and concepts aimed at improving long-term business outcomes.
  4. Maximizing company revenue through effective management of selling costs, including brokerage, commissions, bonuses, and contest earnings.
  5. Ensuring a competitive in-store presence in assigned locations and maintaining relationships with headquarters and customer operations personnel.
  6. Managing manufacturers' trade marketing funds and utilizing data to advocate for concepts to customers.
  7. Operating within a designated budget while maintaining proactive communication with key principals.
  8. Collaborating with Retail Sales Managers on significant retail initiatives such as new product launches, sales drives, and contests.
  9. Leveraging knowledge of customer dynamics, market trends, and principal requirements to achieve objectives.
  10. Providing timely updates on selling priorities to Retail Sales Managers and other shared resources.
  11. Sharing insights and customer information with team members to enhance organizational capacity.
  12. Utilizing technology and computer systems to fulfill the objectives outlined in the Customer Business Plan and developing skills to support the use of Acosta's communication systems.
  13. Offering constructive feedback to the Team Leader and/or General Manager on enhancing organizational capacity and business improvement.
  14. Exhibiting strategic planning capabilities to sustain principal business and drive volume growth.
  15. Demonstrating business development skills to foster new and expanded business opportunities.
  16. Acting as the primary contact for customers on principal-specific matters, including Category Management, Consumer Shopping Behavior, and Promotion Strategies.
  17. Completing special projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor of Arts Degree.

Experience: A minimum of five years of relevant experience in retail (CPG industry), marketing, space management, and/or resets. Sales administration or finance experience is preferred.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite: PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook, along with a thorough understanding of web-based applications.
  • Exceptional presentation and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
