About this position:

This role is centered on nurturing existing client relationships and forging new connections with some of the most significant and intricate governmental organizations, including municipalities, counties, public educational institutions, essential public service districts, and major public transit authorities. Successful Senior Government Relationship Executives have shown a capacity to cultivate trust and establish credibility through effective communication, providing strategic insights, possessing extensive product knowledge, and consistently delivering impeccable deal execution and outstanding customer service. This role will emphasize business development, necessitating a persistent outreach effort to the leadership teams of a targeted list of potential clients. Crafting a strategic approach to expand market presence while safeguarding the bank's reputation with key community figures is an essential skill for this position.

In this role, you will:

  • Establish and nurture client relationships while coordinating all services and products for your clientele.
  • Drive overall portfolio expansion by focusing on customer needs and comprehending their business objectives and strategies.
  • Engage in the execution of significant transactions while collaborating with various partners, including legal, compliance, and operations teams.
  • Originate, structure, and implement transactions related to treasury management and credit opportunities.
  • Travel as necessary to meet clients and participate in industry conferences and networking events.
  • Identify and propose opportunities for process enhancements and risk management improvements.
  • Make informed decisions and resolve challenges to achieve business goals.
  • Interpret policies, procedures, and compliance mandates.
  • Collaborate and influence professionals at all levels, including senior management.
  • Lead the relationship management team to meet sales and service targets.
  • Partner with Wells Fargo subject matter experts to gain a comprehensive understanding of clients' businesses, objectives, strategies, and challenges.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in Commercial Relationship Management or equivalent demonstrated through a combination of work experience, training, military service, or education.

Desired Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience working with governmental clients and familiarity with their procurement processes.
  • Knowledge of municipal credit frameworks.
  • Proficient in treasury management solutions.
  • Strong ability to collaborate with product partners and leverage Wells Fargo's subject matter experts.
  • Established network within the large government sector in Texas.
  • Proven business development skills and a history of increasing market share.
  • Excellent communication skills and comfort in delivering formal presentations to clients or at industry events.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders, both internally and externally, through compelling communication grounded in data and expertise.
