POSITION SUMMARY

Key Responsibilities:

This role serves as an entry-level pathway into project management. The primary focus is to support project managers in effectively coordinating projects through the essential engineering, labor, equipment, materials, tools, and subcontracted services. This position is designed to cultivate skills in estimating, scheduling, and design, fostering a deeper understanding of the design-build construction process.
  • Assist field labor operations
  • Provide labor feedback
  • Procure equipment and subcontractor services
  • Manage document control
  • Coordinate design, trade, and subcontractor activities
  • Support budget analysis, cost and margin forecasting, and project change assessments
  • Contribute to the development of project timelines
Qualifications for Success:
  • Fundamental skills in reviewing and generating job cost reports, entering labor feedback, and processing purchase orders
  • Basic understanding of HVAC design, including equipment types and system operations (e.g., variable air, constant volume, refrigeration cycles)
  • Ability to interpret mechanical and plumbing drawings to accurately track labor feedback
  • Competence in preparing equipment delivery logs and monitoring order statuses
  • Proficient in business writing and public speaking
  • Familiarity with basic computer applications, including Microsoft Office
  • Effective communication skills for vendor and supplier interactions to manage the submittal process
  • Ability to collaborate with field foremen to document and track RFIs with internal design teams and external architects
  • Capability to read and understand technical documents, including CAD drawings and blueprints
What You Bring:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management, with 1-3 years of relevant experience
  • Experience with a mechanical contractor or as a design engineer transitioning into operations
  • Knowledge of HVAC systems and design principles
  • Design-Build experience is advantageous

Compensation:

Final compensation is determined by the applicant's education, experience, skills, and internal equity, with market alignment considered. For California, the salary range is between $90,000 - $115,000, in addition to annual incentives, benefits, and retirement plans as outlined above.
