Job Description

Bennett Engineering Services is seeking a skilled Traffic Engineer to lead our team of design professionals in delivering high-quality traffic engineering projects. This position offers the opportunity to work on various public infrastructure and private development projects, including signal designs, pedestrian/roadway safety, multi-modal operations, work zone traffic control, and roadway lighting design.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and execute traffic engineering projects, signal designs, and safety plans.
  • Collaborate with team members and clients to ensure project success.
  • Analyze traffic patterns using engineering software and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Prepare technical reports, manage project timelines and budgets, and serve as a bridge between junior engineers and senior management.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Electrical Engineering.
  • Registered as a Professional Engineer in Civil, Electrical, or Traffic Engineering in California. If registered outside California, it is expected to be registered in California within 2 years.
  • 5 to 7 years of experience in preparing plans, specifications, and cost estimates for traffic signals, lighting, ramp metering, transportation electrical systems, signing, pavement delineation, and construction stage traffic handling.
  • Effective communication skills, written and verbal.
Technical Skills
  • Proficient in using AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or MicroStation.
  • Knowledge of using Synchro/SimTraffic, VISUAL, and AutoTurn, is preferred.
