Universal Engineering Sciences is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join our expanding team. This role is pivotal in our operations, and we are looking for a talented and experienced professional to contribute to a variety of projects.

The successful candidate will possess not only the necessary technical expertise but also the ability to effectively communicate with all stakeholders involved in geotechnical initiatives from the initial concept through to the construction phase.

This position offers a unique opportunity to join a well-established firm with extensive experience and a diverse portfolio of repeat clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct and oversee geotechnical engineering assessments and studies.
  • Collaborate closely with clients, including owners, architects, and other design professionals to ascertain project requirements.
  • Develop scopes of service, proposals, and budget estimates.
  • Work in tandem with project management and field personnel to provide technical guidance.
  • Mentor and train junior engineers and professionals.
  • Analyze data from field and laboratory tests.
  • Prepare and review comprehensive geotechnical engineering reports.
  • Engage in geotechnical plan evaluations, business development, and participate in project design and construction meetings as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is required; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • California Professional Engineer (PE) registration is mandatory; Geotechnical Engineer (GE) registration is required or must be obtained within 12 months.
  • A minimum of 6 years of experience in geotechnical engineering or a closely related field is preferred.
  • Experience with California projects, particularly schools and hospitals, is highly desirable.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and client relationships effectively.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with strong analytical skills.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • A valid California Driver's License and a clean driving record are required.
  • Willingness to engage in business development and market to new clients.
