Role Overview:
We are seeking a Lead Structural Engineer specializing in bridge design and load rating. This position plays a crucial role in shaping the infrastructure of our transportation systems.
Key Responsibilities:
As a lead technical expert, you will:
- Oversee bridge design and load rating projects, ensuring adherence to industry standards.
- Conduct advanced structural planning, analysis, and design for various transportation projects.
- Engage in projects involving diverse structures, including steel plate girders, prestressed concrete, and cable-stayed bridges.
- Act as a technical specialist or project manager, guiding junior engineers in their engineering tasks.
- Participate in business development initiatives related to bridge projects.
- Fulfill additional responsibilities as required.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you should possess:
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in bridge design and load rating.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license in California.
- Expertise in seismic design and familiarity with relevant seismic design practices.
- Hands-on experience across all phases of bridge design projects.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, MicroStation, and bridge design software.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively within teams.
- A commitment to contributing positively to our employee-owned culture.
Preferred Qualifications:
Ideal candidates will also have:
- A Master’s degree in Structural Engineering.
- Experience with tunnel structures.
- Familiarity with engineering software such as LEAP Bridge Enterprise and SAP2000.
