Lead Tax Strategist

Salary: $140,000-$180,000/Year + 15% Bonus Potential + Full Benefits
Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Tax Manager with extensive experience in tax provision and compliance for a large multinational organization. The ideal candidate will have a robust understanding of tax accounting principles, compliance requirements, and financial reporting standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the preparation of the consolidated tax provision, ensuring timely and accurate reporting in accordance with International Accounting Standards.
- Manage the quarterly and annual tax provision processes, including true-ups, current and deferred tax calculations, and analysis of uncertain tax positions.
- Supervise the preparation and review of tax workpapers and returns for various corporate entities, including federal and state filings.
- Review intercompany tax allocations and ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
- Act as the primary representative for the company during tax audits and manage correspondence with tax authorities.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to team members regarding tax provision and compliance matters.
- Develop and implement best practices to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the tax department.
- Conduct thorough research on tax issues and provide actionable recommendations.
- Assist the Senior Tax Director with various strategic tax initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Taxation; a Master's degree in Taxation and CPA certification are preferred.
- At least 10 years of progressive corporate tax experience, ideally within a multinational environment.
- Proficient in Thomson Reuters OneSource corporate tax software and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Current knowledge of tax legislation, including the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, CARES Act, and Inflation Reduction Act.
- Strong analytical skills with a keen attention to detail, capable of interpreting complex tax regulations.
- Excellent communication skills, able to convey technical tax concepts to non-specialists.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- Leadership skills to foster a collaborative team atmosphere.
