Position Overview

Your Role

The Prisma Cloud Security team is tasked with developing a cloud security platform that safeguards data, workloads, and infrastructure for some of the largest enterprises globally. We assist clients in their transition to the public cloud by ensuring they receive top-tier protection for their cloud workloads. The public cloud sector has experienced rapid growth in recent years, leading to an unquenchable demand for securing hosts, containers, and serverless architectures in the public cloud. Following our recent acquisitions of leading firms in this domain, Palo Alto Networks stands as the market leader in cloud security.

As the Cloud Security Product Strategist at Palo Alto Networks, you will be instrumental in delivering comprehensive technical insights to our sales, marketing, and product management teams, aiding in positioning Palo Alto Networks against key competitors.

In this capacity, you will engage with cutting-edge technologies, including AWS, Azure, and GCP Native Security services, along with widely utilized services such as AWS Lambda, Azure Functions, AWS Fargate, Docker, and Kubernetes. Your responsibilities will include researching the competitive landscape in Cloud Security Posture Management, formulating competitive strategies, and articulating our key differentiators. Additionally, you will develop use cases and assess the strengths and weaknesses of our CSPM and Shift-left modules within the Prisma cloud security platform. A significant aspect of this role involves consulting with clients, creating and delivering technical training for sales, sales engineering, and marketing, and documenting key differentiators to educate our sales and product management teams.

You will excel in this role if you immediately think of AWS, Azure, and GCP when cloud computing is mentioned, or if you inherently understand Kubernetes without associating it with geometry. Proficiency in Python is essential. You should be a self-starter, passionate about creating labs and evaluating various technologies, eager to learn and experiment with new tools, capable of working independently and collaboratively, identifying sales challenges, and providing solutions as necessary. The position entails approximately 10% travel.

Your Contributions

  • Conduct competitor analysis in the CSPM and Shift-left domains, synthesizing and documenting information to empower sales teams.
  • Collaborate with sales, marketing, product management, and clients to research and identify key distinctions and advantages of the Prisma Cloud Security Posture Management and Shift-left module against core competitors.
  • Execute competitive analysis initiatives by researching cloud security posture management competitors and their strengths and weaknesses.
  • Design labs and use cases to showcase key strengths and weaknesses.
  • Aggregate and analyze information to form informed opinions and provide actionable insights.
  • Create high-quality collateral and presentations for customers, partners, and sales teams.
  • Foster strong relationships both internally and externally.
  • Participate in sales enablement efforts and assist sales in closing deals by providing technical differentiators.
  • Establish and maintain a lab for evaluating and comparing cloud security products.
  • Work closely with Product Managers to provide feedback for future product development.
Qualifications

Your Background

  • Over 10 years of experience in the security domain.
  • Experience in competitor analysis or deep insights into security use cases for cloud security posture management, shift-left, and compliance—knowledge of container security and application security is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, and GCP to create lab setups and templates for programmatically testing Cloud Security products.
  • Strong background in competitive intelligence or technical marketing related to cloud infrastructure security products, or experience as part of an SRE or DevOps team responsible for securing CI/CD pipelines and implementing security controls for IaaS and PaaS.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools is advantageous.
  • Understanding of key cloud security concepts (private, public, hybrid cloud).
  • Experience with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python is desired.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with strong presentation capabilities.
  • Self-motivated with excellent project management skills, capable of driving complex projects with attention to detail and meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and track various competitors simultaneously.
  • Eagerness to learn new technologies, experiment with products, and contribute across functions.
  • Strong customer advocacy skills and experience, with the ability to navigate challenging customer situations.

Education and Certifications

  • BS/BA in a computer-related field or equivalent military experience is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Industry certifications such as AWS Architect, GCP, or Azure Certifications are desirable but not required.
