Role:
The individual will play a crucial role in supporting the Marketing Division to achieve the objectives outlined in the credit union's strategic framework. This position involves assisting with the execution of promotional activities and campaigns, representing the credit union at community gatherings. Responsibilities also include producing and filming videos for the credit union, curating and scheduling content for various social media channels, and developing communications for diverse platforms (press releases, events, campaigns, etc.). The role entails maintaining the credit union's website and organizing marketing materials to ensure a consistent supply.

Key Responsibilities:

  • 20% - Aids in crafting, developing, and refining communication and public relations materials for the credit union, ensuring adherence to brand guidelines. (examples include: flyers, press releases, emails, newsletter content, blogs, etc.)
  • 20% - Supports the Marketing Division in executing advertising and promotional initiatives. Represents the credit union at various virtual and in-person community events.
  • 20% - Generates and schedules engaging content for multiple social media platforms, while monitoring performance metrics and reporting findings.
  • 15% - Collaborates across departments to plan, film, edit, and produce video content for credit union products, services, and events.
  • 10% - Assists in updating and maintaining the credit union's website.
  • 10% - Performs administrative duties to support the Marketing Division, including organizing and monitoring marketing materials to ensure adequate inventory. Responds to requests for marketing materials from branches and staff. Provides additional support to team members as needed.
  • 5% - Undertakes other job-related tasks as assigned.

Performance Indicators:

  1. Assists in the implementation of advertising and promotional campaigns for the credit union.
  2. Writes, revises, and edits content for advertising materials, forms, emails, newsletters, and social media platforms.
  3. Collaborates across departments to plan, film, edit, and produce video content for credit union products and events.
  4. Aids in maintaining the credit union's website by monitoring SEO and accessibility reports, as well as usage trends. Works with the team to make necessary content adjustments.
  5. Supports e-marketing and social media initiatives, including website content updates and email marketing efforts. Responsible for managing the credit union's social media accounts, posting updates, and engaging with the audience.
  6. Assists in coordinating activities between the credit union and various marketing and printing agencies, ensuring timely progress on materials.
  7. Maintains a portfolio of completed campaigns, advertisements, and press releases, including samples of all marketing materials.
  8. Helps manage marketing supplies and inventory controls. (Promotional items, brochures, etc.)
  9. Completes branch merchandising, replacing promotional materials as necessary and distributing them to employees and branches.
  10. Assists in organizing credit union events and seminars.
  11. Provides support with scheduling appointments, returning calls, typing correspondence, and preparing reports and documents.
  12. Promotes and cross-sells services offered by the Credit Union.
  13. Addresses member and employee inquiries regarding promotional and marketing programs.
  14. Ensures all Credit Union materials are consistent with brand standards and present a positive image.
  15. Executes assigned responsibilities with a high degree of accuracy according to established departmental standards.
  16. Travels to branches and community locations to support marketing initiatives and events.
  17. Assists in capturing photos during Credit Union events.
  18. Engages in training and professional development activities to meet standards established by the credit union, including attending relevant conferences and workshops as directed by management.

Required Qualifications:

Experience

  • A minimum of one year of relevant experience in a marketing, public relations, or sales role. Experience in the credit union or banking sector is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, and Premiere is essential.
  • Experience managing business or organizational social media accounts is preferred.

Education

  • An associate degree in Marketing, Communication, or a related field; or,
  • Completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school; or,
  • Completion of a specialized and extensive in-house training or apprenticeship program.

Interpersonal Skills

  • A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, along with normal courtesy and tact. The role involves extensive personal contact with others and may involve motivating or influencing others. Building strong relationships with external entities is essential.

Additional Skills

  • Requires knowledge of marketing and public relations strategies, typically acquired through education or work experience in marketing or sales.
  • Prior experience managing or updating website content using a Content Management System (CMS) is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is preferred.
  • Excellent organizational and editing skills are required.
  • Must possess effective written communication skills appropriate for the audience, with a strong command of the English language, including grammar and punctuation.
  • Requires well-developed interpersonal skills for effective communication with internal and external contacts.
  • Experience and knowledge of various social media platforms are required.
  • Basic mathematical skills are necessary.

Physical Requirements:

  • Occasionally requires lifting, carrying, and moving objects up to 40 pounds.
  • Involves sitting most of the time, with occasional walking and standing.
  • Repetitive finger movements are necessary for typing and handling documents.
  • Requires close visual acuity for data analysis, computer work, and quality assessment.

Work Environment:

  • Not significantly exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
  • Residency in Pennsylvania is required.
