Job Summary

Geisinger Health System seeks a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the role of Operations Manager II. This position will provide administrative leadership assistance to the operations of assigned departments, focusing on business and market development, as well as regulatory activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide operational accountability and administrative leadership for assigned areas, ensuring effective management and coordination of departmental activities.
  • Serve as a department liaison with outside constituents, fostering strong relationships and facilitating communication.
  • Collaborate in developing, revising, and auditing department policies and operational procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Develop business plans, including budgets, facilities and capital analyses, market analyses, growth plans, operational contingency plans, and information systems.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of all strategic and tactical operational plans, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Responsible for the financial performance of all assigned areas, including budget development and implementation.
  • Develop, implement, and achieve budgets, providing input into business plans, financial pro-formas, and operational contingency plans.
  • Implement activities and tools that consistently educate and focus staff on key performance indicators.
  • Facilitate active engagement and communication with department staff via formal meetings and informal interactions.
  • Handle all employee relations activities, including coaching, counseling, and conflict resolution.
  • Assist with related activities for physician staff, ensuring effective collaboration and communication.
  • Assess staff and facilitate skill development for all personnel as needed, promoting a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Lead and monitor annual staff patient safety education, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Direct and monitor ongoing compliance with regulatory requirements in collaboration with performance improvement staff.
  • Monitor all incidents, ensuring immediate reporting and effective resolution.
  • Direct department activities to meet patient access and efficiency goals, promoting a culture of excellence and customer satisfaction.
  • Guide outpatient care management activities, ensuring effective coordination and communication with healthcare teams.
  • Participate on teams designed to improve care, contributing to the development and implementation of innovative solutions.
  • Direct preventative maintenance and repair of facilities, equipment, and grounds, ensuring a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Coordinate purchasing activity, including monitoring inventory and supervising the ordering of items as needed.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum of 3 years of managerial/supervisory experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of healthcare experience
