Office Administrative Specialist Job Description

We are seeking an Office Administrative Specialist to enhance our operations at Evan W. Smith Funeral Services. In this role, you will undertake a variety of clerical and administrative responsibilities, ensuring efficient office functioning and providing essential support to families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a liaison among families, funeral directors, and office personnel
  • Execute general administrative tasks and clerical duties
  • Draft official documents and correspondence
  • Schedule appointments, coordinate events, and manage calendars
  • Welcome and assist visitors
  • Process payments and manage paperwork, including insurance verification and claims
  • Maintain precise client records and oversee inventory of supplies
  • Coordinate the printing of materials and manage updates
  • Input data into databases and provide organizational support
  • Supervise junior staff and ensure public areas are maintained

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in office administration
  • Proficiency with office software applications
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Detail-oriented with effective time management skills

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least one year of experience in an office setting
  • Ability to operate basic office equipment
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license and capability to lift up to 25 pounds
